Rockhampton Riverside Precinct
With the objective of repositioning Rockhampton’s riverbank at the heart of the region and bringing back its once lost spotlight, the council has engaged in intense construction and refurbishment efforts on the 600 metres stretch of the Fitzroy river for the stunning new Rockhampton Riverside Precinct.
Featuring a resplendent new Boathouse restaurant, spectacular lookouts and a vast plaza area dedicated to tennis legend Rod Laver, The Rockhampton Riverside Precinct and its 3.3 hectares doesn’t cease to impress.
Working hand in hand with design planner Urbis and Woollam construction group, the Penfold Projects team delivered work on a variety of fronts encompassing both hard and soft landscaping. Our construction team coordinated the installation of the plaza’s hard surfaces including granite, sandstone paving and cladding. Diverse and vibrant podium gardens surround the plaza reinforcing the natural appeal of the riverbank. A large array of brand new street furniture was also installed to maximise the location’s potential and create a functional and pleasurable experience for visitors and the community to enjoy.
The Rockhampton Riverside Precinct is now in the capable hands of our landscape maintenance partner – Hedge Landscape Management for post-construction maintenance.
