Gladstone East Shores
Gladstone East Shores is a world class recreational precinct spanning along Flinders Parade. It is a hubspot for the local community to enjoy the foreshore area.
The beautiful Gladstone East Shores waterfront boardwalk owned by Gladstone Ports Corporation, includes an abundance of green parkland spaces, open spaces to play or exercise, a fully functional outdoor cinema, barbecues and more…
The extension to the existing parklands was the main item in our extensive new stage scope. It included the supply and installation of turf, plants and ex ground trees to multiple parts of the Gladstone East Shores precinct. The hardscape element of the project consisted in the installation of soft fall to different areas as well as coloured concrete edging and various road and path markings.
With the land being owned by the Gladstone Ports Corporation, our team had to ensure close collaboration and fluid communication between all parties and external stakeholders. Our team predominantly used local suppliers and labour hire to assist with the works on the field in an effort to create jobs and contribute to the local economy. Challenges comprised a tight timeframe with 90% of the works completed in only 10 weeks. Site limitations to stock-pile material and tight programing with other trades were encountered, but easily controlled with the meticulous organizational skills from our ground crew and the generous help of the Gladstone Ports Corporation.
Overall this project constitutes another successful contribution to an iconic part of Queensland. More importantly, the Gladstone East Shores Precinct was another great opportunity for us to showcase our capabilities in a remote location setting.
