1 Scott St
Now completed as part of the transformative Kangaroo Point Green Bridge connection, the Scott Street landing has emerged as a vibrant and accessible gateway for active transport in Brisbane.
As the principal contractor, Penfold Projects played a central role in delivering this key urban link, which now provides seamless walking and riding connections between Scott Street and Main and Deakin Streets for pedestrians, cyclists, and e-mobility users.
The highly trafficked location—already a major corridor for cyclists, scooters, and daily commuters—presented unique challenges. Working within tight site constraints and managing continuous public movement required meticulous planning, staged delivery, and close coordination to ensure safety without compromising the project’s quality or momentum.
Our scope of work included installing substantial structural elements such as custom fencing panels, some weighing multiple tonnes, requiring precision handling and engineered lifting solutions. Extensive planting was introduced to soften the structural forms and support Brisbane’s “Cleaner, Greener” vision, enriching the arrival experience with lush, resilient greenery. Hardscape works formed another major component, including the construction of an architectural arbour, detailed tiling featuring crazy paving, and a stone walking path integrated along the building edge to enhance legibility and user comfort.
Through thoughtful design execution and disciplined delivery, Penfold Projects is proud to have helped shape a more connected, active, and sustainable Brisbane—elevating both the function and the experience of this pivotal riverside link.
