Our Rockhampton team in Regional Queensland is currently on site at Rockhampton with Woollam Construction for the Quay St and Rockhampton Riverbank revitalisation!
The revitalisation of the Rockhampton Riverbank will see the bank transformed into a recreational and mixed-use space for locals and visitors. The team is working on Stage 2A and 2B, which is due for completion in 2018, featuring a grand staircase that connects the visitors from Quay St to the lower bank, shaded seating areas, revitalised gardens with art installations, a zero-depth water play area, and a state-of-the-art children’s playground.
We are approximately 80% through this exciting project, and the team recently saw the concreting poured, and 9 out of 13 large ex-ground trees has been transported and planted. The team is now working on the 1500sqm of tiling paving, as well as covering three sets of staircases (including the grand staircase), and the impressive amphitheater. The Rocky team is also moving onto the wall and capping works. We will be planting approximately 13,500 plants, on track to the planting completion in January, which is a lot of work to be packed into a site that is 300m x 25m!
The Rockhampton team also recently held a ‘Penfold Pizza Project’ fundraiser to raise funds for care packages for our troops in Afghanistan. Our team raised $425 in contribution toward the cause, with David North Landscape Consultants contributing a large portion on the day.
