Each year, Lendlease employees globally volunteer as part of Lendlease Foundation’s Community Day, taking a day off work to give back and make a difference in the communities where they live and work, by volunteering their time and skills.
Sandgate House provides full supported transitional accommodation to youths aged 15 to 18 experiencing, or at risk of experiencing homelessness. During their time at Sandgate House, the youths receive a range of support, including access to transitional and life skills programs.
Penfold Projects is proud to have assisted the Lendlease project team this Community Day, through our donation of top soil, which has been used for a series of flower beds, a vegetable patch, and herb garden at Sandgate House.
The seedlings planted were purchased from SANDBAG, which is another independent community organisation in North Brisbane supported by Lendlease. SANDBAG runs programs to respond to people who are facing challenges such as domestic violence, unemployment, social isolation, disabilities, and mental health in their lives.
We would like to thank Lendlease for involving us in their Community Day, and we hope the youths staying at Sandgate House will enjoy their new garden!
